i second a miata, they car great all round x's. easy to work on and repair. They also sell pretty cheap these days. can pick one up at an auction for a couple hundred. But why not just work on the tib? There not a bad car, look decent. and have a slew of parts already out. You really don't need much except suspension to x. Use to do it all the time in the early 2000's in my dd. Even alot of the older hondas are great. Shit real time have been winning races forever in realtime hondas and acuras.

you can find miatas with built motors then cry about it.

Saw a bone stock and in excellent condition blue pig nose s13 hatch last nite... I drooled a little...

Dont get a DSM if you want to autocross. They can go in a straight line way better.
