all around, they are a great car
Very well put. It really depends on what you are looking for, if you want a car that is reliable, quick, and comfortable then it may be for you. While if you want something to turn into a fast "race" car then I'd steer toward a Terminator or ls1 f-body.

i agree that its a shitty platform.

my friend has noticed this with his 04 too.
hes got full exhaust/intake and a big cam makin 392hp/373tq but cant even beat my camaro.

he obviously cant drive it to its potential but if he throws on some DR's and some suspension things hes gonna blow out his rearend, destroy the clutch, and rip the driveshaft. and he cant fit over 245s on that car with out gettin it tubbed.

hes on supra status

but they do fit a pretty good niche of being a great all around car even if it doesnt have drag car potential

Tell your buddy to do a little more research about his car (not to be rude, but maybe you should do some as well....to help him out).

You can fit larger tires. I see people with 275s all the time on ls1gto.com - no tub.

The rear end, driveshaft and axles don't appear to be nearly as weak as people make them out to be from what I was reading. I'm not saying they're going to last forever under extreme abuse...

i meant to say 275s actually, but hes made all the drivetrain out to be toothpics.

with the power hes making and traction he should be good for a mid 12, with a good 60'. i would like to see how long the drivetrain would last though cause youre right, they do seem underestimated

Check out the link I posted. There is tons of cool shit out there for these cars. I'm not a fan of some of the wheels they chose and such, but I enjoy reading about these cars.
