Got a ticket as well today ....
I know there are a few threads about this, mine isnt actually made to ask if i should get a lawyer, or if yall think my mommy and dad will be mad at me.
I was actually doing a little under the speed limit (behind a slower car) come out of the MM Tunnel into Hampton and I get the blue lights ....
Officer comes up and asked about my front plate, I told him it was in the car , someone had backed into me and damaged the mounts ..... so then he asked for my liscens and registration. Well my registration was in a folder in the back seat with the plate and some other paper work like insurance info and what not .... so he takes my license back to his car without giving me a second to unlock the back seat and fold it up and grab the folder with the registration.
45 mins later he comes back with a no front tag ticket (no problem with that , it wasnt on, so im definatly at fault)
and a no registration ticket .... WTF .... so I ask him politely why I was getting this ticket when it was in the back (he would not let me get out of the car to fold up the back seat and grab the folder (back seats fold down and lock). Again I explained to him it was in the car, and he said well you told me it wasnt, I said no sir I said it wasnt in the glove box .... it was in the back with all the other important papers and the front tag.
So then I ask him if I pull it out and show him right then and there if he would testify in court that I did indeed show him my registration .... he said NO, should of showed it to me when I first asked for the information ... I was like .... Sir you grabbed my ID and walked back to the car before I could actually get to it.
"oh well, not my problem, its yours"
Now im all for cops, I dont have the fuck a cop, dont have shit better to do than give me bullshit ass tickets and be dickheads .... like alot of people who frequent the board.
Im just curious what may of been going through his head, because my girlfriend was in the passenger seat and is going to testify in court with me that he was this way, and refused to let me pull the registration out from the back seat.
Is there a law on where the registration needs to be located in the glove box? I know its the typical place .... but I had it out the other day doing insurance stuff with the vin and it went in the folder with the other paperwork.

The law only requires that the registration is with the vehicle...some vehicles do not have a glove box.
Go to the courthouse to pay the front plate ticket and show the clerk the registration. They can usually throw out the no registration ticket. I would also file a complaint with the police department...he'll continue with his attitude until people complain.

I know someone who just told the judge they sold the car that the ticket was written for. It was thrown out and then they went back to the parking lot and got into the same car and drove away.
Someone's going to hell.

It just needs to be in the car. I for one do not have a glove box.
