Yeah... off-road x-pipe means no cats... can't have it both ways.

Well, the previous owner COULD have put an off road pipe on there and added the cats later, even though that makes no sense at all.

I would say you would be perfectly ok to stick with your SCT tuner, just get it custom tuned by a shop you trust.

Even with a boost-a-pump you will need larger injectors than the stock 39's to safely make 500rwhp. Many might say differently because of what they've read online, but they don't tune these for a living, I do. 500whp is too much for stock injectors. Depending on how high you'd want to go in the future I'd recommend buying 60's.

If you are still on the stock MAF I'd recommend getting a SCT BA2600 MAF as well. That paired with the 60's and a B-A-P will carry you deep into the 500's safely. I will always recommend to all my customers to do their fuel system once and do it right. Much easier/safer to dial back an overkill of a fuel system then try to stretch one that can barely cut it. When they are thinking of saving $300 on injectors I remind them that their long block is $9,000.
Yeah, I stand corrected on the off road x-pipe, keep getting the mods from my stage 2 roush and my cobra mixed up I caught myself earlier doing that. But I know off road x-pipe mean no cats at all, which usually means no inspection..ha ha. It has an x-pipe, just not off road of course. Im not sure what SCT tune is in it to be honest. I bought the car from a private collector and he is sending all the mod reciepts to me this week or atleast he claims he is. So hopefully I will have a better idea then. I know the first thing I want to get is the BAP. As far as the injectors if thats the advice you guys are giving, thats cool. I can do that. I dont mind spending some money to ensure the motor doesnt go out. I mean its simple mathematics when it comes to a few hundred for this now or a few thousand for that later.

I got the size you recommeded, but any particular brand or just get them from ford racing? The boost-a pump I already looked up. Your shop is in Richmond right? How much and how long would it take to tune after i install the pump and injectors? Ive never installed injectors before, so im gonna have to do some research on that. As far as the stock MAF, i couldnt tell you if is the stock one or not. Any particular way to tell? This is the first cobra ive owned, so im pretty new with dealing with it. I might just order all this stuff, take it to a good shop and have them do everything. Not that I cant or dont want to, but I get about a day and half off work and sometimes not even that. My job is pretty damn demanding these days. Thanks for all the advice and help guys. I appreciate it.

Keep the advice coming. Thanks

You can install the injectors, MAF, and BAP, then drive it nicely to get a proper tune. You will save a good amount of cash by not having a shop do that. There is a couple different ways to wire the BAP though, and you should make sure you talk to whoever is gonna tune your car to see how they prefer to have it wired. get a couple quotes on MAF injector packages, but the BAP won't be any cheaper form anyone, then you can get it straight from KB.

Did the car come with a hand held tuner or did he tell you it was chipped? Any clue at all what shop did the work? Or where did the car come from? I may be able to assume what shop did the work from what area of the US it came from.

Your shop is in Richmond right?
Yup, just about 5 mins from the Short Pump area right off of 64.

An hour if I don't run into any additional problems like blowing out spark or something random. Speaking of blowing out spark, pull your plugs and make sure they've been gapped down close to .030" or you'll have lots of break up at high rpms. If thats the case your old dyno graph will probably show that as well.

As far as the stock MAF, i couldnt tell you if is the stock one or not. Any particular way to tell?
If it's black plastic and has a Ford Part # on the top, it's most likely stock.

If you are interested in having my shop do the work give us a call and we can talk about it. 804-784-8851. My name is Kevin you can ask for me or Mark...he's the one that would have to schedule the work.

Keep the advice coming. Thanks
No problem, if you have anymore questions lemme know. I've probably tuned 150 '03-04 Cobras, I know them pretty well.

+1. The SN95 section is ok, but damn that place is shit. Site always going down, board full of assholes and the admin/mods are clueless asswipes. I love how they tell their vendors in order to advertise there, they can't be on other sites like Modular Fords and sites like that.
