i just spent 6 grand building my ls at abacus for turbo and the shit still isnt right. that 7 grand you got will be gone before you know it and then youll be dumping even more money into your car. the money dumping never stops, its not about the best bang for your buck set-up, pick the build that you like and get it there. my 2 cents....

hes right, and he still needs about 1500 more to get it working right, ls vtec will definitely be cheaper in relation to a fully built sleeved boost ready block, then you still need the turbo kit, but the all motor route will definitely not be as powerful as a turbo setup, the issue with reliability with a turbo honda is pretty much the only reason for me not going back to turbo, considering how much i plan on spending on the ls vtec setup, ill be just about 800 dollars short of a brand new revhard turbo kit, and if i had built my new motor back to completely stock, id still be making alot more power for the dollar amount the motor would still be stock, but with the all motor setup done correctly and the proper precautions taken it has a way bigger chance of not blowing up, and also i would never spend 7k dolllars on a motor and drive it everyday, aftermarket rods and pistons are not made to be driven everyday, they wear out so much quicker, and the difference in metal with the internals and piston slap, im not down for that, if your motor is built all the way and your car isnt fully warmed up before you drive it, you run the risk of damaging your motor from piston slap and the metal not expanding enough to create a smooth stroke and with every revolution youll have a wobbly piston, blowby can occur because of that, i like to just get in my car and go, ill never have another turbo honda that i drive on the street, race car maybe, but joe, my advise in all seriousness, take that 7k, put it in the bank, and collect interest, cause your car will become a never ending pool of money dumping, ive stepped back a little bit by selling the turbo and itll take a long time to get the vtec head on my car cause im putting money away little by little for the things i need, if your not ready to spend tons of money on your car, every week, dont mod the motor........
