A friend of mine needs advice.
i got this in an email this morning,
the person we talked about is Bryan a former coworker, now if of course the vehicle is under its bumper 2 bumper the rim is going to be covered. now if not then can he dispute to Dodge about a defective rim possibly and try to get a rim from them or does he have to get his insurance company involved.
You ever heard of a rim cracking completly thru one of the spokes? You're old group member, Bryan's big ass Dodge truck has a spoke thats cracks thru like that. I've never see something like that before. We're thinking its just gotta be a defective rim because he's got like a foot of tire around the rim so he would have had to hit something huge to do it.
how old is the truck...my fathers old 02' 350 dually cracked the exact same way.....this was a few years ago, but the truck i believe was out of warranty....so he just bought a new one...not from dealer, but oem from a dealer alternative we know of
Yeah, we had a 350z in the shop one time with a crack all the way through one of the spokes. We didn't cover it under any kind of factory warranty (it was out of 3/36) and told him to have the independant dealer he bought it from cover it.
I doubt many dealers will cover a broken wheel like that outside of 3/36, but then again, it depends on if you bought it there and how much money you've spent on service and other cars. This situation will be all politics.
