Ford 302 5.0 H.O.
It was, technically, a 351ci, but for all intensive purposes it was a 347.
However, it made more than enough power to move the car.
A base 302 is going to be more than enough power; once you learn the driving characteristics you can bump the power easily.

That's what I was thinking, one of my friends already told me straight up "I'm not riding with you for at least a month." And I don't want to end up wrecking this car within the first few months cause of experience issues. I've drove a Cobra before, and yeah, going from a four banger to that, the acceleration, torq, everything was a bit intimidating. Now I'm trying to put that into a car that's easily have the size of a lude or a mustang. And like Phil says, after I get used to it, I can start buying shit for the motor.

Ford 302 5.0l H.O. EFI Stock or mild tune, that's all... I don't wanna torq the frame of this mx-5 to death. I want either some info on where I can get one locally, or stuff I might need to know about buying them online. Maybe best years to get, what to look for in terms of something that might be noticably wrong with it just by looking, anything really.
Actually going to a shop in Glouster to check out a motor, hopefully it'll be what I want, I hate running around VA for parts. But you do what you gotta do, eh?
You going up to Vitale Motorsports? Just the Trick flow intake won't make much, but it will def be needed if you add heads and cam in the future, and easily put 300 to the tires with that.
Yeah, thanks man, I bought the motor from him, just wondering how much it put out. After I get the motor put in the car, I'll start spending money on the body. Then save up for a new head, then ultimatly a new block. Thanks for the connection though dude.
No problem, between him and Rodney @ Rocket, you should be able to find anything you could ever need.
Mario and Rodney can definitely take care of you, and steer you in the right direction. Rodney has always gone out of his way to help me and answer questions.
