DYNO!!

just got off the dyno today and i'm very happy. made 190.1 hp and 138lbs/tq with intake, intake manifold, hondata, and throttle body. got to meet coolva today and watch crate dyno his beast also ;) so i got what i thought i would now i can't wait to see what the race header does for me.

hahaha pos. i still beat you, with your shitty ass tires =]

ya. This new longblock seems stronger. didnt have the same "peak" numbers. But i compared my dyno graph when i got home to my old, im still running way rich. coulda leaned it out a full 2 pounts across the graph. which woulda got me exactly where my old motor was at 180whp. Also when i got 180whp on my old motor i was on 205 50 15s, now im on 205 50 16s. added a inch in diameter.

Whats nice though, the old motor would fall on its face at vtec cross over if i tried to adjust the a/f w/ the vafc. this motor didnt. and this motor doesnt have that weird hesitation like the last did. so far so good. w/ hondata and tuning i think it'll perk up. =]

How was the air-fuel Brandon?

I had no idea that tires made a difference on a dyno. Someone please explain.

Crate 04-03-2004 03:55 AM

Re: DYNO!!

explain it to me too. lol

thats what they told me when I was trying to figure out why this motor (the exact same one) was a bit lower.

Nince! Hey I gotcha doubled =) but you have less than 1/2 the motor I do... or is that 1/2 as less ;) Jeremy you out there jk!?

Crate are they going half throttle then full or is that just the sound of your VTEC? haha.

Crate 04-03-2004 06:01 AM

Re: DYNO!!

full throttle from 3k. =] vtec is set at 4800. h22s got a fairly loud vtec cross over.

Actually their displacement is about a 1/3.

Crate went from 15's to 16's. The unsprung weight takes more power to spin because it's farther from the axis of power.

If you look at it from moment of inertia and centrifugal force it's easier to understand.

yah.

the gs-R's crossover isnt as noticeable in my friend steve-o's car....

now, the itr is a different story altogether....you could hear it REALLY well before it was boosted.......and now, well, you hear a lot of shit when it hits vtec.

hell yeah...the K20a2 is the shit holmes..lol.
i made 187whp with just race header and CAI. i cant wait until iget the K pro and an exhaust and some other minor things...

Crate 04-03-2004 12:13 PM

Re: DYNO!!

ya, i saw your sig and my guess was 190-195 for his first dyno. With a race header (he's still very rich across the board) i bet he'll see another 8whp easy.

question for you physics peoples...

does power have as much to do with the whole centrifugal force theory as does gearing ratio?? taller tire + taller gear = faster mph, quicker acceleration... where as short gear + tall tire = faster mph, slower initial acceleration...

Re: DYNO!!

Good #s! And Crate remember that your dyno WILL be DIFFERENT this I see is not a Dynojet so you dynoed on two diff type dynos. Unless you took the old motor and had that dynoed at DTP also. Can't wait till you make it a BEAST H22! Also the K20 motors, WATCH OUT!!!!! They are going to be the SHIT when they are figured out completely!!! I have seen awesome All Motor #s form them already, I can;t wait for the CRAZY BOOSTED #s!

VTEC didn't seem to KICK in loud on Brandon's car, I had to really listen to it hard, I noticed it slightly. Lats run best though.
