Your correct its Derek.

And i still say azenis for drag. At least until you start making a good amount of power then move up to a full slick. Plus they double as a autox tire. And you can daily drive them. I do.

Those who said azenis..no they are great road course tires but for drag racing the sidewalls are too stiff. To the original poster I'd look into the drag radials, its not full blown slicks or street tires. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....FA+Drag+Radial or http://www.nittotire.com/#index%2Etire%2Ent555r

azenis still provide good traction in a straight line and will last longer than drag radials. I went from azenis to drag radials and now im back on azenis. The drag radials provide better traction but not enough to make me keep going through them.

If you want slicks then buy some slicks, your 13in tires are a good size but you didnt say the width rim you have.

If the guy is considering purchasing slicks we can assume he wants maximum traction..no? If someone who goes to a drag strip to swap out their street tires with their "drag wheels" with azenis, wouldn't that just be silly to bring those tires when a proper tire like a drag radials/slicks could be the substitute.. no? What I'm saying here is if he is going to shell out money for any of these tires, he might as well do it right the first time around. The price difference isn't much nor does it seem like he will be driving on these tires on the street so tire life shouldn't be an issue.

The whole point in recommending azenis was to offer something for him to use on the street. If he wants maximum traction then why get drag radials and not just get slicks? And good luck finding a drag radial in a decent width for a 13in rim if you can even find one for a 13in rim. The links you provided has the smallest diameter of 14in and those only come in 195s. I already recommended that he purchase slicks and asked him how wide his 13in rims are, and then he is also going to need to take into consideration how much power he plans on making, what tranny he will be useing and so forth so he can decide what diameter slick he wants to go with.

The other choice that i would also recommend is that he ditches the idea of having a track only set of wheels and tires and just gets azenis (or drag radials if he wants to keep buying tires) with a good width to use on the daily and at the track.
