unscented if possible for the detergent. One of my friends who had a side detailing business for some show cars said that if you don't like to get the stuff made specifically for microfibers, then to use something like All laundry detergent. Let them soak with a soapy mix of dawn dish soap, agitate them, soak in warm clean water again, then wash in All laundry detergent (or something with no perfumes/additives, lay them out and let them dry, then store them in a closed container. I've been doing that for a while now and can't complain. The only time I throw towels out is if they get dropped on the ground since i don't get to detail in a garage or anything.

We keep about 50 towels in rotation on the body and paint side of things, rarely doing many full details for people. You can never have enough, and keeping them clean in a duffle bag or something works great.

Hell I'll put this in here.
I need someone to do a huge detail on a 94 325I. White exterior color.
Needs full exterior detail:
Wash
Clay
Compound/Polish
Wax
Seal
Anyone with some actual skills please pm me. If not, I will take it to Shine Car Shine where I have received great results on tough vehicles.
Figured I'd leave something where one of you detail pros can make some money.

I need it done well. I want to see how she can look before looking at new paint.
It's going in the garage for a complete tear down to the bare shell.

I'll be taking my G8 to shine car sine next time I'm in the area. I've heard nothing but good things about them.

Re: Detailers: Terry Cloths: Throw Away or Keep?
Sorry, I forgot I made this topic lol.
I actually have Microfibers, I have no idea why I call them terry cloths. I have about 100 give or take. I buy alot of them, most are cheaps but I have a couple decent ones. I never threw them away just put in a bucket.
I used tide, with no fabric softener. Just figured I'd ask.
Thanks for all the pointers. I've been saying I need to step my detail game "up" but never followed through. Sadly I 'detail' alot of peoples cars for them. I've gotten lucky and haven't torn anyones cars up, but I dont charge either.
I need a decent random orbital. I have all these pads and only a high-speed buffer, nothing that will utilize these pads.

I wash mine once then throw them away. I get great deals with our supplier at work so it works out and helps i work in a bodyshop. When it comes to buffing pads they are used a few times then i buy new ones. I love my porter cable. It is the best investment i have bought. I detail many cars so it pays to have quality products. Does anyone ever chime in to autopia and check out new and upcoming products and reviews?
