+1 Room-mate said he probably didn't want to or can't pay for the diagnostic charge but it saying its "unsafe to drive" as long as you're current on your payments (if you have any) honda has absolutely NO right to hold your car.

Re: Circuit City hates your car
First I've seen of this. Should've contacted a lawyer before now
Better off to install yourself, it's not that hard. And at least you know if it's fucked up you have nobody to blame but yourself. It is nothing but high school kids working installing shit in those places.

I noticed this quote:
I guess this was an actual employee who felt like he should let the truth (his side of the story) be known.
ok, lets start from the beginning.
When the car came in, it was stock.
He told the salesman he wanted to put a DD in the car.
The salesman went into the shop to ask the installers if it could be done. The installers said they would need to see the car. So he pulled it around to the shop. The installer took the oem radio out. told him there wasn't enough room to fit a DD, WITHOUT CUTTING THE DUCT. The owner also wanted (front) speakers, and Dynamat for them.
The owner was told we did not have the harnesses for his car. The S&I told the owner that we could order them for him, but it would take about a week for them to get in. The owner said he was going out that night, so he didn't want to wait. After all of the product was picked, and the price was set. The Salesman rang him up. The salesman went to go get all of the product. The owner was taken to the shop to fill out the work order. On that work order, at the bottom, the installer wrote that he consented to cutting the vent, he signed. The installer also wrote that we would be tapping into the wires instead of using harnesses, he signed there too. The owner was in the shop the entire time the install was being done, joking around with the S&I. If you give me a few days, i will find the work order. You sir, signed a form that you agreed not to hold Circuit City liable for the vent, the wiring, and the oem speaker location. I ask you to prove me wrong, post up you work order. Because when i find ours, you wont get a dime from Circuit City. I can guarantee that the wiring that was done in the car, was as good as it could be.

Looks like the guy signed off to have this work done after reading some more, I'm not sure who's right on this one, but if he signed off to have it done, he's at fault just as much as anyone else.

What happened with that? Did they pay for damages?

Re: Circuit City hates your car
Well - she bought the car for her daughter and took it to BB the next day to replace the stock audio. They did the work and it all seemed good until the next morning her daughter drove the car over to her high school and saw firetrucks in the parking lot. Her car caught fire and fire was so intense that it burnt the car and the pavement and 5 cars around it. Next to her was new BMW X5 - its engine block melted - >$1,000,000 in overall damages. Experts on scene concluded it was a very bad short caused by the install of the audio system and she got the car replaced but none of the personal affects were compensated.
