Blah, blah, blah another ticket question except this one is complicated(armed forces)
from my experience the base ticket only goes against your driving priviledges on base and not out in town. if its a pink ticket you go to the base police precinct and they count it against your record on base. if they gave you a commonwealth of virginia ticket then you pay for court house. either way base tickets go up to 9-12 points so if its your first one then your ok. you can call the number on there and plee guilty and it wont effect you much unless you're trying to plee not guilty to not knowing the speed change and all. trust me ive gotten pulled over on base to many times. i know how it works on NOB.

Did you get an envelope with your ticket? There are two types of citations on military bases. A 1408 which is an armed forces traffic ticket. It can be given to anyone but doesnt go on your civilian record, just the base that you commit the offense on. You get the pink copy for the 1408's...the other is an 1805 which is a U.S District Court violation. You get the yellow copy with an envelope to pay the fine because its not a mandatory court appearance violation. but if you did have to go to court, it would the federal courthouse in norfolk i think. We send people to the newport news federal courthouse for langley. Hope this helps....

Sounds like you lucked out...1408's carry no fine...1805's do have fines....Usually you would get an 1805 if you were driving suspended. maybe the guy didnt know how to write 1805's...but you can basically crumble the 1408 and throw it away. those dont hurt anything just points on base.. That DMV notice he gave you is the same form on the civilian side. That doesnt carry a fine. Thats just to inform you. So basically you got notified of a suspended drivers license for free. all you have to do is pay DMV and get it reinstated. if i had a choice i would rather be caught on base instead off base.. NPD would have got you with speeding and driving on suspended...as far as paying fines, there shouldnt be any.....

at langley it was pinkerton, but now they are DOD like the navy. they are authorized to write tickets (DOD) not contract security. Chances are if he (the navy master at arms or cop) (i have to dumb it down for 3xb18), is under an E-4 he probably didnt know how to write 1805's...
