AUTO TRAINING AFTER HIGHSCHOOL
As a UTI grad, its a bit more than 15k to go there, try 26k. Also you dont come out of the school with ASEs, you have to go and sign up for the tests on your own and pass them. I think currently the ASE tests for May have already closed their sign up dates but they were 57 dollars per test. I will say this for UTI though, no matter which campus you go to you will learn a hell of alot in a little time. Plus parts of the Hotrod U program are worth it because at the very least you learn how to propperly make power and keep it reliable, unlike most of the people on the street currently. (IE- I have a 2002 Acura RSX-R w/ a turbo running 21PSI on stock internals and nothing else.) Time bomb waiting to happen right there.
I graduated from UTI with the Ford FACT program and the Volvo SAFE program. But let me warn you now, being a technician aint all that, if you dont know what flat rate means then your in for a WORLD of shock. More so with gas prices where they are, people just dont want to pay to get their cars fixed. But there is money to be made too, if you are good, you can flag 50-60 hours a week with ease and break the bank but when the winter time comes and all there is to work on is 20-30 hours a week then you will feel the pinch. Good luck in your choice.
