Anyone melt their wireing harness with Silverstars?
Brian, I'd call and question it:

Tech support said the only difference is the color of the light, the sylverstars are 4100k I believe. She said so long as i'm using the bulb designed for the car and not a higher wattage one, all will be well.

^ Fawk no... I'm falling in love with the 626. I get attached to anything I work on and make better. The car is a '99 w/ 98k on it and with the exception of a few dings is in perfect condition. I'm amazingly impressed with mazda's interior longevity... her car shows no signs of wear and looks brand new inside. Plus it has almost new tires and gets 35mpg. Oh and best of all it's paid for. Sure she'd love a 5 series bimmer, but that can wait.

I'm sure once her student loans are taken care of in a few years she'll be in the market. It's a '99 w/ the 2.0 4 cylinder.

Sorry to drag this post back up; I just got back from vacation.
If you're dealing with the same wattage, you're dealing with the same current. The only thing that could melt the harness (if the wattage is the same) is a shitload of extra heat from the bulb. The resistance of the wire with too mugh current through it is what creates heat, so if you draw the same amount of wattage as the stock bulbs, you will dissipate no more or less heat. It's simple physics.
If you haven't messed around with the wiring or grounds at all (which some of the people on the 626 forum most likely have) and you've bought the same wattage bulb, you will have no problems.
