Another "what should I buy thread". . .
Well I just talked to my dad and told him that if he wants to sell me his S2000 (black on black '04) that I would buy it as soon as my car sells. All he would have to wait on is for the deal to close on his 996 turbo (bastard). So pending all that happening I'll end up with an S2000. If not, I'm back to the choice at hand....
S2000.
The STI will be faster in most cases, but it also takes out alot of the driver skill out of the equation. It's a easy car to drive fast, which can be fun but, not as rewarding.
If your always comparing every car to the S2000, nothing else is gonna measure up to it.

It was a toss up between the Cobra and the G35 for me. Both cars are very different...
I voted Cobra just because I'm biased.
STi:
cheap interior but large power can be made easily and cheaply. They also handle nicely, but they're exterior design is ugly in my opinion.
S2000:
very picky about anything you do to them, impractical and small, yet while stock, they're fun to drive and good looking.
G35:
although sexy, aren't as much of a sports car as the other cars in this line up. Definitely the most luxury and quality in this line up.
Cobra:
offers incredible amounts of power cheaply, all the while being reliable, practical, and economical. The greatest downfall of the Cobra being within the IRS, which of course is easily fixable with a few parts.
Lightning:
similar characteristics as the Cobra, power wise, but within a pickup. More intended for going straight than tearing up corners. Major downfall being the gas mileage and interior accommodations.

S2k. I've only driven the top 3 choices, so I can't comment on the Fords, but out of those 3 I'd take the S2k. I'd love to get an S2k right now, but I'd have to add in the cost of a hardtop or buy one with one already, because I guaruntee the top wouldn't last more than a month before getting cut in my neighborhood. I enjoyed driving the S2k more than the other 2. With the Fords, I've never liked the 99-04 interiors and I don't like regular cab trucks. So before even driving those I'd have negatives against them. I got a feeling that those things wouldn't matter if I actually drove them though.
Enough of that nonsense though, get the S2000.
