Default ACCORD/PRELUDE SHORT SHIFT DIY

Im doing DIY's because thats what i do

"NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR MISTAKES DURING THIS PROJECT"

Tools I used:
- Drill Press
- Vice
- Die Grinder
- File
- short hand saw thingy
-tap and die neede to re thread

basically take off your shift knob saw of the desired amount of the shifter and re thread it make sure you have room for the knob to fit back on...simple i did this in 30 minutes....avoid cutting on a kink

(small picture)
i cut off 2 whole inches you probably cant tell but honda accord shifters are huge

The best thing about this mod is that you can compare the before and after so easily. It is seriously amazing the difference this makes. I'm really happy with it.

This is one of the cheapest and best mods you can do.

So that's that.

Have Fun!!!

congrats...you cut the sifter!
well la de freakin' da

a true short shifter is lengthend below the fulcrum (sp?) to make it shorter, not just chopping it.

edit: and why does it say prelude/accord? you can do this to any car.
edit(again): this is how it's done:

well i did mine from my own knowledge and i have a accord and seen prelude with similar knobs i wasnt gonna tell everyone to do this to any car because i only know accord/prelude sticks and i meant DIY short throw/shortening the stick i didnt know that a short shifter was any different because...... i made my "short shifter"....
