50 psi, stock bottom end, hyundai scoupe
ever heard of a hyundai scoupe turbo?
there's this guy who says he is running 50psi on his stock bottom end. I know nothing about those cars but apparently its capable of taking it because on a local forum (here in PR) similar to dragva people arent argueing the 50psi, just the shitty times (13s) he got at the track.
Im having a hard time believing the 50psi

yep....with work.
i highly doubt ANY stock bottom end holding up to 50psi of boost. even on a low compression engine...that is ALOT of cyl pressure.

Im not talking about a diesel engine, Im talking about a 1.5L hyundai gasoline engine...
I dont see why we even compare diesel engine to a gasoline engine
and thanks fc753, I thought I was alone on this.

50 is perfectly capable, but not on the stock longblock. It would need a MAJOR overhaul, so yes, you guessed right, it's probably impossible with his setup.

Re: 50 psi, stock bottom end, hyundai scoupe
nevermind I misinterpretted what he said. People were making fun of him cause he ran 13.6@111mph on 50psi. Then he was saying it was on street tires and they were all jealous cause they're cars couldnt handle 50psi like his little 1.5L engine could.
He never really said it was stock.
I still find it hard to believe, even on street tires I would have expected the mph to be higher. Probably nasty tire spin all the way to the finish line.
Still 50psi sounds like way too much. thats what I figured highpsi tsi guy, he installed the gauge wrong or something.
edit: this is his car
