I find it interesting that they put fixed Brembos and Recaro seats in the Cobalt, but the standard Corvette still gets shitty brakes and shitty seats (side support wise). Even the C6Z brakes suck for track use (the ZR-1 will change that).

I guess it's all aout target market. The average Corvette buyer is a 50 year old fat white guy who needs to fit in the seat, drives it from his garage, to the car show and back, and so long as the brakes stop the car it's ok.

Very cool car... go GM.

They have been pulling in external sources lately to help in certain areas. Unfortunately with the Vette, the only concern seems to be the interior for the popped collar fags. Way to ruin a sports car you metrosexual bitches! But at least the other cars in the line are benefiting in performance areas. In 2008 you can get more performance everywhere but the Vette, but you can get a Mercedes designed interior to make the Euro crowd happy.

Like I said I still would not get rid of my E46 to get one of these. But at the same time the E46 crowd need to let it go that this car can perform at the same level or better at the track.

I agree with most of what you said except the performance. LS3 is awesome... many people are trading perfectly good LS2 C6s for the LS3.

390 rwhp w/o any mods is awesome, and 430 w/ intake and headers is fucking cool... esp w/ the NPP exhaust.

I should have clarified, besides the obviuos engine changes. The Cobalt for example going from supercharger to turbocharger is great. But I think the fact that GM pulled in someone external to help make it handle and brake like a performance car should, is far greater than the historical trend of just put more power into it.

If performance is on par with the e46 as has been posted, I say it will take a big fat stinky shit on a WRX.
