Again, if you put a 450hp engine in an '87 GN, it will run deep into the 11's. Fuck a low 12. I'll give up handling for a full second in the quarter.. but that's the difference between an '87 Buick and an '04 Pontiac.

I named two Mustangs (which were as much production cars as the Cobra was and is) from the "Era of Muscle Cars". By your argument, they shouldn't be considered muscle cars because they handle well. If that is not your contention, then your whole argument is debunked.

And the 1 only Corvette many people would consider a "Muscle" Car was also limited production, which was the 427. The 350 was not anywhere near in the same class as the Charger, GTO etc.

Muscle Cars are not meant to handle, they are meant to pull the front wheels up from stop light to stop light. The GNX did this, the GTO did this. These "newer" version are nice, but need a new name. Its a simple mater of RESPECT. You of alll people arguing in this thread should have at least an understanding of that the way you talk about your "Mistress".
My point, these cars are not Muscle Cars, in term's, they dont deserve the same name.
The Mustang and Corvette have evolved with the times, they did disappear and then 25 years later come back as a "new" Muscle Car.

Odd you should mention the Mistress. When I'm done with the other one, it will be called the same thing. I won't care that it won't be the same as the one I have now. It will still look good, go fast and handle well. If someone were to say "well, it's not orange, so you shouldn't call it the Mistress", I'd think them daft.
What you are saying, is that Mustangs and Corvettes are no longer muscle cars since the evolved away from their roots?

Corvettes and Mustangs arent considered Muscle cars, nor does Chevy or Ford call them Muscle cars. The "new" GTO and "new" GNX are being labeled as Muscle cars with their name and are being marketed as 1.
