those rods are fucking insane... and i didnt know alcohol was so different then gasoline: tons of benefits.

For a race car, yes.

For a daily driver ... maybe not so much. It doesn't work so well in cold temps (hard to start) or high temps (predetonation).

Alcohol works wonders as a knock deterrent. I have alcohol injection on my car and it is all the benfeits of an intercooler for a tenth of the price. The only downfall is that you have to refill it from time to time.

um wasn't that an alkie engine in the article? it takes about twice as much alchohol to produce the same horsepower as it would using gasoline. so as far as being what pushes the car it's probably not good either..unless you convert your truck bed to a fuel tank, Goat maybe?

Alcohol is more stable and combusts at a much lower temp than gas, which I think is why it's cool for those type of engines..

I heard it was the alcohol evaporating after combustion.. it happens at such a high rate that it draws the heat away.
