Why not? A small shot won't hurt anything and it's going to be the best bang for the buck on a car like this. Not to mention, it'll be a helluva sleeper too.

nitrous is very safe if you're not an idiot, You'd be surprised what bolt ons and a 55 shot would do, plus it's easy to un-install when you're done with your car and moving on.

There are used kits floating around here all the time for 300 or so. A wet shot is pretty easy to install, and if you get lost, the manufacturers have excellent directions.

Your transmission would be a major roadblock, it doesn't like to handle much more power than stock.

I had a Grand Am ONCE! After about 8 alternators I got rid of it.
