Isn't the Kaaz set dog gears? Holy double clutch batman! Shawn and others say it doesn't take long to get used to them, but I seriously lack the skill to go to a dogbox. If you are using Shawn's old turbo, that's a big turbo. With proper tuning, you will be in teh 11s with it from what I know. As to numbers.....I don't really know, but my guess would be right around or just shy of 400 depending on the tune. It would really help if we had an AWD dyno in the area........... I have a feeling that by the summer of 05 I won't have the same complaint though.

 

The kaaz gears are actually full syncromesh, but have a straight cut 1st-3rd gear. I too would lack the skill/will power to drive a dog box everyday . I remember shawn saying something to the effect that on his first run with that turbo on an untuned motec, he ran an 11.5 at 121mph, so i am being optomistic.

 

I saw either here or on Nabisco you saying you got rid of your QTEC. What happened to it? I'm interested as I currently have a beef with QTEC the company that I can't talk about. If'n you want to know the skinny, drop me a PM.

Nevermind, found it.. Good stuff but a little eye watering on the price.. Guess it's cheaper than buying an STi tranny though..

 

Ron, my qtec was just not a good idea. It was cool for the time being, but beacuse the guy who welded it to the downpipe did such a shity job, it scraped everywhere, and ended up popping off when i hit a speedbump. It always leaked, and sounded horrible when closed, and too loud when open. Basically, I wanted to be able to have full power (and quicker spool), without having to deal with the noise.

 

You suck. Now we can't kick it in Brooklyn. Get it fixed before the 25th and lets take it to HIN in Jersey! Or from brooklyn we can take the 4 door civic DX SUV/car/truck/taxi hybrid. I hate driving that thing.
