Either get a lawyer or wear your whites. Dress nice also, it helps. The cost of a lawyer will generally be less than the cost of insurance hikes for 3 years. That and it's easier to get out of tickets if your record's clean.

"mr. lamb, do you plead guilty or not guilty to the charge of illegal exhuast?"...."guilty"... "what have you done with the vehicle?"... "i took the exaust off and put the factory back on."... "officers do you see any reason i shouldnt dismiss this charge?".... officer1 "no, sounds good to me your honor"... officer2 "your honor, i saw matt pull into the parking lot with the same car and the same exaust that me and officer1 pulled him over for"
OH SHIT!!!!
judge "mr lamb why did you lie to me?"... "your honor im not lying, i change the exhuast i just have a polished tip now"... "mr lamb, i see you just turned 18, im charging you with contempt of court, you will spend 10 days in jail, i will suspend 9 of those and you must change the exhaust back to factory within 10 days or you will serve the other 9. bailiff take him away"
i was put in cuffs and spent 24 hours that day... it fucking sucked! i dont know why i was or what told me to wear em, but luckily i had on PLAIN white underwear and socks... so i got to keep them on under the orange suit.
moral of the story is... DONT LIE IN COURT!:d

sry to hear about that, i went through the same thing but got 2 reckless in same week. i just got a lawyer and he smoothed things out. if u pm me i might be able to get his number good guy. last case i had was suspended license, improper tag and no title or registration. on the saym day he got my case dismissed he got this juvenile dismissed also out of a dui. i guess it must be nice to be a lawyer and your dad is a judge part time. but he was right dress nice and get a lawyer.

on another note, my friend got in trouble for his exhaust too, hes got a friend that works at a shop, got him to sign the paperwork saying it was changed, went to court, showed the papers and was let off.
then another of my friends...haha. we were in va beach in one of the parking lots. all of a sudden my friend decides he has to piss. so he stands towards the edge of the lot near some trees, and im in my other friends car and all of a sudden i see 2 cops walking towards him with flashlights. they shined it on him and were like what are you doing. well there was no way he could have gotten out of it. so he got a ticket, 96 dollars. i think the ticket was like 25 dollars and the processing fee was the rest. damn that was expenisve
