A LS1 would be great. It will just take me that much longer to get the funds together for an EFI swap. Those bad boys are not cheap.
Did you expect it to be? I mean really..............Any swap is NOT going to be cheap

A Ford 302 and Mustang manual trans are way cheaper and easier to find. I know this isnt going to be free. I dont really want to drop 4-5 grand on an engine, trans, harness and ECU.

The powerplant isnt really the issue. I am trying to find somebody who has done this. It would be nice to save time on the little things that hold you up.

I can get my hands on a mildy prepped 302 for $600 right now. That is bloody cheap. If I decide to go that route then for less than $2k I should have all the parts.

I have had a few 350/toyota(I know its different) swaps and all I'm saying is the little stuff adds up really quick. I just don't want you thinking that you are going to to throw the bare minimum into this swap and expect maxim outcome out of it.Now that being said I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks for the luck. I know it will be expensive, and all those little things you forget and dont realize you need till it's too late will kick my ass. Im not new to cars. This is my first conquest though. There isnt a lot of information to be had so Im looking for some firsthand experience.

Every swap I have seen cheap ls1 swap is using a parts car. way cheaper than piece mealing. Find a 99+ TA or z28. dont go 98 as they have lil quarks on the computer and motor. www.ls1tech.com is the best place to find info on that swap.

Is that your RX7 on Craigslist for sale? Super sweet swap. There's a local guy putting an ASA (race motor) LS1 into a Miata! That thing is going to be sick!
