Dude... good call... Peter this is a good idea. Put all 4 sensors in the spare and air that up.

 

Does the spare perhaps have a TPM sensor? My 07 Toyota kept tripping the low tire pressure light because the spare was low. Maybe thats the root cause of it.

Unlike you, most owners can't check their spare tire's pressure. You wouldn't believe the amount of Rav4s we get with the spare low. When I write up a Rav4 and they said the TPL is on, I immediately have it in my mind its the spare. I'm right 98% of the time.

 

I'm not gonna lie, the first time the light came on I checked all 4 of the tires and finding them to all be fine thought great, now I gotta take the damn thing in to the dealership.. Then I saw the spare and thought hmmm.. Checked it and yup.. it was low. lol

Toyota has been putting tire pressure sensors in cars since like 05, and I've NEVER had someone say they have the light come on in the tunnel. I seriously doubt it has that much effect on the tire pressures. Also, he doesn't have the sensors in his wheels anymore. I dunno what kind of sensors Infiniti uses either. Toyota used to use sensors that used wheel speed to detect a difference in pressures, now they use actual sensors in the wheels that read pressure.
