If you have the money about 600 bucks invest in a lawyer. I was doing 77 in a 45 and got pulled. The lawyer dropped it to speeding and in 6 months if I didnt get another ticket it was wiped off my record. Reckless driving will jack up your insurance big time. And the speedometer calibration is BS I paid 40 bucks just to have them say it was accurate. Not to mention if your speedometer is off they will still give you the ticket regardless. Also you might want to ask if the police officer had his radar gun calibrated in the last 6 months if not that is grounds for it to be dismissed. And def take the defensive driving course its like 140-160 bucks. Good luck. Oh yeah show up for court on time too.

With this charge, it doesn't matter if the cop shows or not. That is because a Commonwealth Attorney will be doing the prosecuting, not the cop. That is what happened with me when I got nailed with a 90/55 Reckless in VA. I recommend getting a lawyer that regularly does business in that courthouse.

My friend took a lawyer with him because they were gonna take his license, but the cop was 30 minutes late and the lawyer said "court starts at 8:30, not 9:00 i would like a dismissal" and the judge dismissed it. so he got off pretty easy lol.

i did 88 in a 35 residential zone..this was in hampton. I had gordons zeed as my lawyer(u hear him on da radio all the time on z104.5) Cop didnt show up, case was dismissed. Got not guilty. If noone believes me go to www.google.com type (virginia court cases) for the search. u will see a page that is a ip address. starts wif like 201. or something. Go to that, click on hampton district for traffic violation. and search for Schouster, Dustin u will also see many other tickets i beat

took a diff approach than what everyone told me

basically everyone in front of me going up for trial tried to argue about speedometer and other bullshit got charged for their shit anyways.

i pleaded "guilty with explination" basically i told the judge it was late and i honestly wanted to just get home.. i knew i was speeding im sorry and i am curerntly taking a defensive driving course online. the judge lowerd it down to imprope driving, no probation, no class. $50+cour costs.. the cop didnt even have to say anything

and i didnt need a lawyer or get my speedo checked. =D
