oh yeah i forgot to describe the scenario, it was almost midnight, there was almost no other cars on the road, so i didnt realize i was speeding that much. instead of coming up with excuses (which im sure judges hear all the time) and paying for a lawyer (that i cant afford) im trying to take the plead-guilty, beg for mercy, cry like a little bitch and get it reduced to just speeding. btw im leaving for the air force soon if judges like to hear that shit

You said in the original post that the other cars were doing the same speed, now there was almost no cars. I think you are gonna take a hit on this one. The "keeping with the flow of traffic" thing might have worked, but I don't think you are gonna do much now. Your only hope is the calibration.

I wouldn't sweat a reckless driving ticket at 21 mph over the speed limit. It's just a traffic summons that carries the same penalty as a class one misdemeanor....1 year in jail, $2500 and a 6 month loss of your license. I say risk it and skip the court date hoping the Trooper misses court. Whats the worst that could happen? The judge could issue a fta warrant for you, but hey it's just a speeding ticket.

+1, lol, but on serious note..... Attend driving school or take an online class, BEFORE your court date!!, atleast sign up for one. if your record is truly clean, then go get it printed out at the dmv, take the certificate for the class and your record to court and plead your case being extremely humble, respectful and apologetic!!! If this is your first time you shouldn't have a problem. I got a lawyer for both of my reckless tickets and both were dropped down to minor offenses.....but then again i was in middle of a TS clearance investigation and didn't want the hassle, whether it mattered or not. As Blah explained, this is serious offense Good luck....

I'm from NoVa and moved down here a few months ago, but let me tell you, Fairfax court is very different from the 757's system. You go to Fairfax with hundreds of other people paying their fines for various shit because the cops pull everyone over and they gladly take your money to finance their new megacourt to be finished in 2008. The judges in the 757 don't f*ck around. If you show up to court unprepared, you're going to pay. Listen to the guys in this thread. The cop will show... especially if it's a state trooper. If you're going to take the point and move on, prepay the ticket. If you want it lowered, either get your car calibrated and play dumb or take the dd course and beg for mercy. Good luck!!

I thought that if you get a reckless summons that you have to show up for court? Anywayz these people on Drag know there stuff just listen to them. Get your car calibrated and talk with the look of a 8 year old church choir boy "Your honor I didn't know that I was moving that fast" and the judge will look you straight in the eyes and say "I will drop it down to improper dirving" and then you walk out of the court room and pump your fist like Michael Jordan used to when he would win a game winning shot.........Got it?

yeah, you are definitly going to want to go to court, and as far as cops in vb not showing up to court for a reckless, they would loose their jobs if they did that so mad tyte doesnt know what he is talking about. because you said there was not a lot of traffic and 21mph is such a high margin of speeding the judge might not take your plea even with a calibration. just be nice and if all else fails......offer oral sex

If the trooper gave you reckless you have to show up for court. Troopers and city cops have a certain day a month to go to court for the tickects they write.
