I did the build your Ford thing and tried to create the most expensive GT I could. Total MSRP was $31,745

Dude, you have some fuckers for friends, getting you to buy a car for 15 grand more than it could possibly ever be worth.

Hope that check went to the bank to try to help you bounce back from that disaster. And I'll be damned if I mod my car to my Fiancee's descriptions. I think the chivilrous thing to do would be to teach her how to drive a manual.
