Seems to me you are misled
thats one way to take yourself outta the conversation... LOL

how long have you been in and whats your rate? the navy is rate driven, so youre right, SOME sailors dont live on ships but most do. and the navy is ALWAYS prepared to force sailors to make crappy decisions about where they live (among other things). if you dont know that or havent seen that, i would be willing to bet you havent been in long because all the people who have any time under their belt are agreeing with me in this thread.

i have no clue huh? LMMFAO. i spent seven years at sea and you have NO years at sea. if youre not a sea bee or FMF then.... i'll leave the saltier ones to complete that sentence.

BAH rates are not universal. thats why they have NAVPERS. the navy can make whatever rules they want. and like i said when i was a junior E-5, they had a rule that you had to APPLY for BAH. it was available but not a right. NOB is building or may have finished that HUGE barracks complex near the piers. then navy can build new housing if thats what the president wants.

Yea, I did that for the 6 yrs I was in the Navy. Now that I'm only a DoD civilian employee I have to pay the car taxes. I'm just jealous of you guys because I know Norfolk isn't doing anything good with my tax dollars.

Lets see, I have been in 5 years. I am an AME. I know I am right, there are alot of sailors who will NEVER be assigned to a ship for some reason or another.

No you have no clue. OMG you got more time on a saltwater shitter than I have in the Navy, you are so fucking awesome. I have made 3 cruises, way to make assumptions. Just because I havent been assigned to a ship, doesnt mean I havent been assigned to an Airwing. Plus I dont give a fuck about how long you have been to sea, what rate you are, or how you came to know everything Navy, you are one of those guys. So I dont care about you.

Navpers has nothing to do with BAH rates. http://perdiem.hqda.pentagon.mil/perdiem/bah.html may help you understand that, DoD assesses BAH Rates to areas. I never said BAH was a right, did I? I simply said they wont do it. Once again you making them assumptions.

I love how people decides to join the military (willfully) and then start bitching about it.
