BTW, Spawn, would it be okay if the police put a camera in every room of your house? You shouldn't mind as long as you aren't doing anything illegal, right? Not saying cameras at intersections are comparable, just pointing out how worthless the "if you're not doing anything illegal..." argument is.
On a serious note, how do these camera's make intersections more dangerous? I'm interested to know.

im pretty sure the camera catches you from the rear

And yeah, the camera's at the VB blvd / Independance int wont help traffic a bit.. if you're going eastbound on the blvd, the green light is literally 4 seconds.

The number of rear-end collisions rose dramatically.

In that yellow light situation where a person rolls through the yellow, people now wanted to avoided the risk of the ticket and would slam on their brakes. I'll look up the numbers when I get back from class, but it was pretty startling just how much it rose the rate of accidents.

Nothing more than a revenue generating scam. I do know in the past that these "red-light camera" systems often tweak the length of time the yellow light is displayed to help increase the number of red light runners. I'd be curious if they do any tweaking here in our city.
