it seems that the sts kits make good numbers but arent up to par at the track vs. a conventional turbo setup

well to really prove a difference, one would really need to invest some money into a test. The item that would really impact the test is the turbo itself, one would have to make sure that the same turbo for the STS kit is used in a front mount setup, and the test is done on the same exact motor too(not just an LS1).

that would be some data I'd love to see.

 

yea same here. i wasnt trying to degrade the sts but ive heard from a member on ls1tech that they are useless until 3rd gear. theres roll race vids where they kick ass but 1/4 mile where they just dont stack up

 

that's a hot IROC. makes me miss mine.

To answer some questions yes it is my daily driver. I drive it from the kempsville area to NOB almost everyday (even in the rain).
It's a nice setup but yes it is useless in first and second. Partly because of the crappy tires I have on the back stock everything else. I guess to because at about 4,000 it seems to kick you in the ass.

And no I don't have a mullet but have seen some drivin Mustangs lately.

Well I dumped my STS just for the simple fact it kept blowing the piping off after ten lbs. I know those kits backwards and forward. Im now putting together a front mount kit and am droppping off my car for tuning at CAM tomorrow. At 10lbs the car made 600 rwhp and equal tq thru a auto. 2 things bothered me about the kit was how low it hanged and tracking leaks on it. I personally built a pvc cap with a air fitting on it to help track leaks. Great tool. To the iroc owner awesome car.
