Take a towel and soak it in hot water. Wrap it around your head.

Get a microwave and take it into a sauna. Stick your head in it and turn it on autocook for at least 30 min.

For added Iraq realism have a friend throw handfulls of sand into a heat gun shooting it into the microwave to simulate sand storms

It's fucking hot. When it gets down into the 90s at night you almost need a blanket

to simulate the flightdeck in tropic conditions-

put on a tshirt,a turtleneck sweter and a heavy jacket with the sleaves cut off, then put on a set of heavy cargo pants, steel toe boots and leather gloves

now get in the sauna. pick up 90lbs of barbell plates and put them on your shoulders (to simulate flight deck service equipment) and run laps of the sauna.
every third lap put the weights down and pick them back up and start running again.
also, have 15 or so of your friends sit in one corner with heat guns pointed at your face as you run by, and have some big guy stand infront of you where ever you run (to simulate moveing airplanes)

do this for 12-36 hrs

now dont get me wrong, the grunts have it worse, people are trying to kill them

we just had to worry about airplanes running us over or landing/crashing on us/sucking us in or blowing us off the flight deck in the middle of the night with no lights

try being the one on that scene in full turnout gear but instead of two cars and an hour, try A TRACTOR TRAILER AND 6 HOURS. sweating so much you can drink as much water as you want and still not pee for 5 hours afterwards, better yet. have a fire.any kind of fire, it doesnt matter, house fire, car fire, brush fire motherfucking trash fire, shit is ridiculous in full gear and an airpack. or even just having a medic call and having to lift someones fat ass up out of there hot ass house. YAY FOR SUMMERTIME, FUCK i dont like working in the summer time.

125 degrees F. in main 1 on a drydocked Navy Destroyer. Pulling cable is fun.

I've lost damn near 10 pounds in one week.
