Why is it that the only pre-requisite for a "import model" Is that your asian and are not a fat whale.
Seriously IT DOESNT MATTER how you look or how ugly you are
as long as your asian and not fat you can be a certified model??

and as far as a/s/l (which kinda made me laugh a little, sorry)...i'm 27/female/drama beach(but i'm a cali girl...well, navy brat)...lol. although, i am married and i have kids....hahah! almost all the people that i meet don't think 3 kids came out of lil' ol' me. but they sure did, lmao.

You know, that's a pretty good question...and to tell you the truth, I really don't have an answer for you.
Personally, I got into that scene because I am an enthusiast and I had the opportunity to "get my feet wet", felt froggy, so I jumped at the chance. I had lots of fun with it obviously, the recognition was nice, and the perks were awesome, but in the end it was just the same old thing basically and I didn't continue on with it. Although I've never considered myself as a "certified model" as you called it. I don't even think I've heard of it in that way, lol.
I do know that for the most part, some of these girls start off cuz their significant other is into the scene and they branch out from there. Starting small from being the spokesmodel for the team's car club, or whatever.
Either way, they're considered eye candy by someone anyway. And really, let's not play...when it comes down to it....it's all about T&A.
