lol, va beach isnt all that bad, im stationed here as well (usmc). i personally think compared to other places the scene isnt half bad. pm me if u want some questions answered. i can also hook u up with a good shop
First off, welcome!
Check out the FSAE team we have here at school, www.odumotorsports.com
You'll figure out where they are when ya get here.
1/4- Dinwiddie is closest.
Auto-x - Pungo is literally in va beach. Also ACU-4 is held at the amphib base which turns out to be a sweet (and very fast
) track www.autocross.us
Winterish, generally Granby street in downtown Norfolk is the happening place. In the summer the beach has plenty of bars. Locals tend to avoid the mainstream bars as they cater to tourists.

I will have to check that out. (ODU motorsports) Especially since I am designing my own exhaust system(manifold and all), Intake manifold, and do most of my own machine work. I like planning and building shit. I also have some of my own test equipment since I work in a calibration lab(flow meters, pressure guages, and temp probes). I am using these to test out my new exhaust system that I am constructing now.
Thanks for the autocross link.

By the way, do you have any pics of your car(s)?

Not true. I have lived here 15 years, and I am not used to it yet. Didn't we have snow, and 60 degrees yesterday in the same day?
