gixxer are overpriced used in my opinion, i have a new r6 and have no problem keeping up with gixxer 750s. Also, as far as a starter bike, the bike you get will not do anything you do not make it do, you could get a 1000 to start on if you wanted. The key is knowing the limits of you skills and what the bike you're on is capable of.

Im selling a 2001 Blue Yamaha R6 if your interested. It has 10K on it and its NEVER been laid down or recked. Its always been kept in a garage and never seen rain. Looking to get 6,500 for it. Also its completely stock except for aftermarket turn signals.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. How long have you been riding (on the street) if I may be so bold to ask? A couple years tops? You obviously have NO IDEA wtf you're talking about.

Comments like the one you just made are getting old and fast..............

I think if the person can handle the weight of the bike there shouldnt be a problem. Why buy twice.....get what you want the first time.

becuase you are a sensible rider who doesn't want to see new riders persuaded to by a bike they can't handle that will get them hurt. There should be more riders like you. There should also be more new riders that listen to experience.

Any of the new sport bikes (600cc+) are not good beginers bikes. If you want something newer I would suggest a used SV-650. They are great bikes with decent power and can be picked up for a very reasonable price (around $3k). You can sell it after a year, for probably the same price, when you are ready for something "bigger".
