Need o2 bung welded
Anyone like to recommend a shop or individual that can weld a bung for my AEM UEGO into a stainless steel downpipe. It is on the car and its all welded so i'd rather not take it off unless i have to. Looking to tune real soon so i want to get this o2 sensor installed.
Well... I've had test pipes on my car previously and Big Al's Muffler and Brake are really 50/50. There's 2 within 3-5 miles of eachother, and one would not TOUCH my TP's, and the other welded a bung for an O2 sensor on since they figure hey, they're not the ones that removed the cats so who cares.
It was pretty cheap too, I think $10-15? They also installed a cap b/c I wasn't ready to put the O2 sensor in right away.
The heat stresses fucked up the threading b/c they screwed the cap in when hot, so when I took the cap out it destroyed the threading. I took it back and they put it up, re-tapped the threads, and my O2 sensor went right in.

I suppose i will bring my car by there tomorrow then. I talked to one of those guys on the phone, he didn't seem against doing it. I have a catalytic converter on my car so it might be easier for me to get a shop to do that. He seemed a little unsure about welding into stainless steel for some reason. Was your pipe Stainless? I'll make sure they take adequate time to let it cool, thanks for the tip.
Big al's on witchduck did the deed of giving me a bung hole and i couldn't be happier. If you need an extra bung hole i recommend that shop. $25 if you bring the bung.
