Oh, did I mention that I have a 351 block sitting in storage right now?
Not with the stock block....maybe an A4, but 8-10 would be a good limit.

Personally I'd use the 351 with 10-12 psi. That would be money

Back to domestic, but only because I had a dream about this car.

The first car I ever worked on was a '68 Mustang California Special.

Hell, I'm still working on that one.

351 with GT40 heads might be a good old time.

Or the AFR heads. That's where it's at

Not for any period of time. The pistons are forged, but your rods and crank aren't that great. Put the 351 heads on the motor in it now and get some AFR 205's for the 351.

I'm not overly impressed with the GT40 heads, the intake is great, but not a big fan of the heads. Sounds like you're gonna build the block right at least.

Damn...I guess I'm still spoiled with my little aluminum 4-bangers that can hold 650hp stock.

I don't have 351 heads, just the block. I have to do some research on heads still, but the gt40s (both iron and aluminum) and the twisted wedge's seem to be the standard and I've seen good numbers out of them.

A few years ago Trick Flow heads had some issues with poor valve guides that wouldn't hold up. I'm not sure they fixed that problem yet and I've been out the the 5.0 game for awhile. You don't want iron heads.

AFR's are doing the best job with what's available now. Unless you want to go some radical drag only setup, they would be your best bet. I'm sure we've got plenty of MM&FF issues we can loan you with flow numbers and bench tests.

When are you supposed to get back?

AFRs are the new TW heads. Great numbers...I'll see if I can find you a site.

Problem with the blocks is the lack of material between the cylinders. That's why it's better to buy a dart block or something if you're going to stay with the 302.

I don't think the 351 has those issues, but I'd recommend looking at the bottom end anyway
