For good professional work at a shop your going to spend a lot. What motor swap are you doing? Where are you located? I might know some people that could help you or do it for you cheaper since they arent a shop.

Very true, but money can be a pain in the ass to come by. The guys I know do good work but you must supply all required parts and you dont get a warranty like you would at a shop.

Basically. Most of your swaps alone are going to cost the 2grand right there.

Give us a hint on what type of engine and car. Supply these two and I'm sure people could actually answer your question a little better.

Very true, some shops are better with nissans and some are better with B series and the price difference can vary on what motor you're trying to do.

Such as a B-swap in a honda..those are pretty easy fast and cheaper than say an RB26 into an S-13... also do you need to do an automatic to a manual conversion?

Dont blame you for not wanting a backyard mechanic... save up to get the warranty work.
