Maaco
Hey, I need some feedback on Maaco paint jobs. Now before I get flamed I know you get what you pay for but I don't really need a show quality paint job, just something that looks decent. So I was wondering if anyone had some pics of their Maaco paint jobs. I'm also open to other suggestions of places to go to, as long as they are cheap. Thanks.

Re: Maaco
since you're aware of the old saying "you get what you pay for" maaco would be the place to go.
Most of the time your just gonna get ur basic "SCUFF" over the car, Single stage paint, no buffing or wetsanding of their imperfections, and your moldings over taped.
for 300 bucks of whatever they charge you cant beat it haha

just actually depends. If you bring it in on a day they are swamped with work, they are gonna prep your shit quick to get rid of insurance work/make money on the other cars that are in the shop.
If you bring it in a slow day they "MIGHT" take a little more time taping it up and such.

i used to work at maaco on military...for about $300 you will get the decent paint job you are looking for. but nate is exactly right, it really depends on if the preppers take pride in their work or just look at it as a shitty job. i took pride in my work and took my time on the cars i did, but thats just me.

Re: Maaco
I have had one car painted there and it came out great. I have another car there as we speak. This is the one on Military Hwy. The first one cost me like $500. This one is costing a little more due to the prep work. The guy actually asked me to bring it in early because they are so slow. He also cut my prep cost for me. Seems like now is a good time, cause they are slow and need the work.

Hey you might also try doing some of the prep work yourself. This allows you to take the time to make sure it is right before it goes in the booth, and also might knock some of the prep costs off of the job. Just call them and ask what all they do to prep a vehicle, then just do it at home and drive it there. (Obviously dont tape off the windows, let them do that) Good Luck
