Local shops to do VH45 swap into S14?
This swap is something I've decided to do, and although I'm mechanically inclined, I have little experience with engine swaps. And I have no experience with the VH45. I have done a little research, however, and I know how much custom work is involved. Especially concerning the transmission...having a manual tranny is a MUST.
That said, I highly doubt there are any shops around here that have done the swap, but I don't know of ANY shops around here, since I just moved here. So are there any that'd be willing to try? And how much do you think I could expect to pay? Amount of downtime without the car? YES, I am very serious about doing this, so although input is welcome, no snide remarks please. It won't even be possible for me until the beginning of next year, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask early. Thanks in advance for any help.

Google ellisautoworks in FLA. They do VH swaps for around 6500 IIRC. Otherwise you're on your own working with a local shop with probably 0 exp in VH's. Also you need to get on Nicoclub.com. You can pick up a lot of info there too. 5sp Z32 adapters are available from Maxworx and Elwesso on nico is in the process of making adapters as well.
It's worth it though.
