Basically, if anything can be done to a car, I'm the kind of person that could do it.

But I was asking for opinions on what shops in the general area are lacking exactly, and what kind of work people would most like to see happen in a new shop in the area, not for trash talking. I can get trash talking in any number of forums I'm on. And I can just as well open my shop in any other of the millions of square feet of available space in this country, but I was looking at the Hampton/NN area, because it seemed like a damn good area to do it in. It seems like some people on here are out to prove that wrong though.

i know i woudlnt bring my honda to you. it might come back a V8.

- Performance Auto Salon
- Xtreme Imports
- Next level
- AutoSolution
- Driftek
These 20-something year-olds have no fucking clue how to keep a business properly running. It's more work than just cutting up around the shop all day.
I'll never hire another person, never grow bigger than my garage, and never work for more than one person at a time.
So yes, with whatever you do, if you can be professional, keep customers up to date, and the most important thing, make sure they're happy, then go for it. You will do well once you have a name for yourself here. It would be a fresh change in this area.

What do certifications have to do with anything? Where is it written that every successful auto performance/customs shop is required to have every employee/owner to have ASE certs or whatever? Anyone can take a class and pass a test. It's not exactly hard to get a cert for anything. And I wasn't asked what certs I had. I was asked what experience I had.

Cool, im interested as well in opening a shop ... doesnt mean im going to make a thread to have everyone hang from my nuts.
