why don't you guys just change your ignition system and get new keys made. The dealership cuts keys for your car and they won't work. Plus an aftermarket alarm as well. That should deter most petty thiefs, but if they are good, they are getting your car regardless. Good Luck

and thanks for the idea about covering up the VIN number, its always something simple when something so complicated goes wrong.

they have GPS available for installation on your car to track the location of your car if it was stolen. have it somewhere hidden and then you'll be able to find your car. its prolly pricey but if you love your car that much, wouldn't it be worth it?
