I usually wash my own car with a foam gun and sheepskin mitt. Usually wax it once or twice a month. Still seem to get some mirco mirring in there even with taking well care of what I do. I have a porter cable polisher and have used it acouple times to correct the paint, but its alot of work trying to keep up with it working all the time. If I could find someone to do a professional job on it for a set rate a month I would be down with that. Anything to keep it looking good.

I take both my cars there and never had a problem. The one on Battlefield is better than the one on Portsmouth blvd.

You're doing a few things wrong. One thing is I have no idea what chemicals you are using. Another thing is you almost never need a porter cable, 99% of the time they can only hurt.

Also, foam gun?

Are you shaking off your sheepskin in a 2nd bucket of plain water in between dunking it back in the soapy water?

If you have to wax it more than once a month, you're either using a terrible wax (or the wrong wax for the application) or you're using extremely harsh chemicals to clean the paint.

Are you doing things in the old school (and incorrect) circular way or back and forth?

Ya I work there and to be honest, I would rather wash my own car. Most of the time the wash does ok, as do most employees.

But Other than using old dirty brushes and towels that swirl your paint, I've had no complaints.

If you keep your car clean and go there it will be fine, as to where Id had people come up with rusty, shitbucket cars that look like theyve never been cleaned since purchased. Yet the customers seem to think autobell will magically bring the car back to showroom status.

IMO if you have a car that you actually care about, don't take it there. I have several friends who work there and will try to hook you up with making sure the brushes and shit are good to go but I don't like car wash places like that.

My stepdad takes his 3500 truck there all the time. I've been monitering the swirls and they haven't been bad. His truck is white and I wash and wax it at least once every 3 months.

My moms graphite 05 surburban doesnt have any swirls and it is taken to autobell all the time.
I rarely get to wash and wax this car.

My own car, I will never take to autobell. Well, unless it's my beater.

I disagree with what you said about the porter cable i have one and use it for paint correction too. If you know how to use it it does wonders for your car. Here you go www.autopia.org educate yourself.

i have quite a few friends who work/have worked there. i only had one problem when i went there, i had a little tear in my front drivers side fender on the lip facing to the inside of the car, well, one of the brushes caught it and ripped it about 6 more inches...but the fender was already fucked so i just said fuck it..lolz

i had a stage 4 unsprung clutch in my 240, so it was fucking HILARIOUS watching some of those guys try and pull it up to dry it after it was done being washed....i cant even count how many times they stalled instantly

If you don't care about your car's paint, then autobell is fine. If you do, then stay away. They are good if it's for your beater/DD.
