I have been detailing my own cars so far but it is starting to catch up with me working all the time. I saw that autobell had a $39.95 all month carwash deal and was wondering how clean do they get the cars? Also, does there washs cause swirling? Do they use clean towels to dry with and not use the same towel from the other car in front of it? And what kind of towel is it?

 

they use diff towels but the machines in my eyes are not for anyone who gives a fuck about the paint in my opinion i used to work there awhile back, and seen alot of harm come from there. but i mean thats my opinion. alot of my friends work there, at the same time.

i would not put a single car through there unless it didnt matter what it looked like just to get it clean.... but thats me.....

 

Eddie and I take our cars there all the time. Never had a problem and they do a pretty good job

You need to have a good 2.5 to 3 inches of clearance to get onto the rails at autobell, which I found out Friday.

 

the one thing that happened that makes me never want to send my car through there was when i worked there.

i was cleaning cars all day, and kept noticing on the passenger side of alot of cars, i noticed one kind of deep scratch every few inches in roughly the same 3 inch vertical space all the way along the passenger side of the car. so i thought to myself wtf...
when we closed i walked through the bay looking for what it was, well i found it on the brushes that cover that part of the car. a very small piece of glass stuck in the brush. now keep in mind i wasnt the only person cleaning cars.... and i started noticing early on in the day that the scratches were there.

so how many cars got fucked because of that? who knows? did anyone say anything? nope. and to think those brushes get replaced what? once a year? if that? ill pass. to each his own.
but like i said i know a few employees there and all of them who own anything nice, DO NOT run there own cars through.......

 

Shoot man, $40/month, how many times a week do you wash your car? I'm just a grad student with a hose (and high priced, mostly german, washing chemicals/gear), and I might be willing to do it for you at that price lol.

 

I take my car there. Only bad thing that happened was a pack of cigarettes got taken out of the backseat of my car. They weren't mine, so I didn't really care, but still. He did it right in front of me too.

 

Not bad. I've taken my cars to them a few times.
