LOL well being a noob I'm sure you wouldn't. Didn't I tell you anything I say will make you smarter?

OP- This is the best way of taking the crank pulley off by yourself using hand tools. The screw driver wedges itself in the teeth of the solid steel flywheel that will not break, aginst the bottom of the block. Allowing you to put as much force on it as you want untill the crank pulley bolt breaks lose. I am not telling you to stick the tip of a screwdriver in the little "v" the teeth make. Slide the whole shaft of the proper size screwdriver between the teeth and rotate the crank untill the handle of the screwdriver is resting aginst the bottom of the block. Put a jack handle on the end of your ratchet for leverage and break the bolt loose. Reverse this to tighten it. I have done this countless times and it works just fine. You can not hurt your flywheel with a screwdriver.... If this takes two people then you are doing it wrong.

Lol, you must know me so well. I can't even change my oil, jesus what am i thinking being in this thread.

Just saying i would try to find an impact gun from someone. Easier / faster than relying on a screwdriver propped up agaisnt the block and such.

For the record, you will always be a noob in my eyes bro.

I bet I can have that bolt broken loose faster than you could hook an impact up and use it to break it loose. Those bolts are on there damn good if they have never been broken loose before. You need a good impact to break them loose.

If the op is mechanically inclined at all, this way will work just fine for him. If not, then:

OP- Take the car to a garage (if it is drivable) and ask them to hit it with their impact to break it loose for you. Tell them to snug it back up enough for you to drive home and then break it loose again with hand tools or a weak electric impact. They usually wont have an issue doing this for you.

Haha, I'm not a re-re. I thought you meant the teeth, which made me cringe just thinking about it. I'm not worried about messing up the car, I was worried about my hand. I'll try that tomorrow, thanks!

the screw driver wedged against the block works perfectly fine if you do not have a impact strong enough. trust me i have done it on a few cars that had never had the crank pulley off it before.

just dont put it in the teeth like he said. just wedge it between the block. that wont break trust me.....

disclaimer- if your block breaks you needed a new block anyways. lol

Haha. I guess I'll take a better stab at it tomorrow. Today was shitty for working on cars. Raining and cold and no garage makes for a shitty time.
