Hampton Gun Show
I think I'm gonna end up going to a gun shop and trying on several in CC holsters to see which is the best fit for me. Thanks for the help.
Dont buy the XD just yet. Take a loot at the M&P. You will probably find you like it more than a Glock or XD.
As for CC holsters. Most stores only really carry Galco products. While they are pretty good or OC I find their CC stuff isnt that great. Check out Comp-Tac holsters. The C-Tac works great and the M-Tac is just as good if not better. Just depends if you want leather against your skin or prefer the Kydex.

If money were no object, I'd go with the Springfield EMP.
Since it is, though, I've become quite enamored with the Walther P99C and the Kahr PM45. The Walther is less expensive and a little easier to find. It has a rail for light/laser, and has a good solid feel. The DAO trigger is a little stiff, but that's okay for a last-chance gun. You can also choose a QA (quick action) model that's not as stiff.
The only reason I might choose the Kahr over it is because it uses the .45ACP. Aside from that, I'd go with the Walther all day.

I got my CC holster from Backwoods Leather which is in Western Branch. Its local and hand made, and its made specifically for your gun. Its just an IWB but its great quality. It was around $50 IIRC when I got it.

I think I might take a trip to the range tonight to see if I can find a revolver that I can hit the broad side of a barn with
I'm really itching for one, but as you and I know, It'll be about as useful as a club in my hands as it stands right now.
You looking at a full framed revolver?
Tim, do you have any recommendations for good local shops to align my sights?
I had a friend take a look at it a bit back as the pistol was firing about a foot low and to the left at 15 yards. Had a weapons specialist with the military take a look at it. He was able to play with the sights a bit, but wasn't able to get it perfect. He said (and maybe you can correct him) that the XD requires some sort of special tool for aligning it that he didn't have access to.
