I don't know... There is so much to go into. The "Flaming Ghost Car", Cry Baby Bridge, KKK Lynchings, Murdered Bodies, Seasonal Climate abnormalities, Ghost mobs etc. I've seen and heard and experienced something that I don't want to discuss out there. I can't say I believe in all that stuff, but there is something about that road. If anyone else want to elaborate, go for it.

Have you ever driven down Crawford Road? Almost at the halway point, you'll notice a road on the right that is gated off (if you are coming from Yorktown going towards Newport News). It's a dirt road. Down at the end of that road is an abandoned looney bin. Lots of weird shit happened at places like that back in the day, and it is said to still be used to certain "groups" of people to this day as a secret meeting spot. There are a lot of other myths, stories, creepy things about Crawford Rd that I could continue to tell you about from hearing them while living in Yorktown for the last 8 years, but the old asylum is definitely the most logical explanation to the creepy shit.

 

yeah Some chick was supposedly being forced into an arrainged marrage. The day of her "arrainged" wedding she went to say good by to her true love on the bridge. He supposedly hung her and said if i cant have you no one will. thats why sometimes people see a female in her wedding dress hanging from the bridge

 

Which is also the story behind the "Lady in the White Dress". Supposed late at night there is a female in a long white dress with no face walking down the side of the road. If you stop she supposedly asks for a ride back to her wedding.

 

except its not an asylum, it was/is a radio tower, hence why the road is called tower ln, and why there is a radio tower down there. People come up with the dumbest shit about that place. clown factory, john deere factory, asylum. And the kkk shit is dumb too, that is the blackest part of york county, if there is kkk stuff in york county, i'd guess it'd be in the backwoods of seaford.

 

ohh, and the bridge is a tour road for the battle fields, you wouldn't think anything of it if you were on the bridge instead of under it.

i remember a topic discussed on the TAPS(The Atlantic Paranormal Society, aka SciFi's Ghost Hunters) forum board about places in the HR area reputed to be haunted and i think that road as well as a few others (area around great dismal swamp, etc) were brought up...ill vouch for the swamp, caught something on my digital camera a few years ago i could never explain...really wish my laptop didnt crash it was a really creepy photo

 

two people just got shot on crawroad this past month. and they both were walking, i am told by a cop friend of mine to not go down there.
