First off BLOW me.. i could give 2shits if it has a faster thru put.. its what they will cap it at that matters.. what is the advertised speeds.. right now with cox.. i get 5/2 service I get 650k/sec download and upload around 270k/sec... thats with all this crazy sharing thats going on.. I didnt say fiber was the same as cable.. i was refering to the speeds that will be offered.. if you would fucking read it would not be that hard to understand me ill quote me for you "isnt it the same speed as cable" and im pretty god damn sure you have to have a huge box mounted to the side of your house ill even post a pic incase you have never seen one.

so back to what i was saying what is the speed offered im pretty sure its the same as cable.

Up to 15 Mbps/2 Mbps
Up to 30 Mbps/5 Mbps
(speed is slower the farther you are away from the hub, but your speed will always be the same no up n downs like with cable)
And im no calling anyone dumb, but i made this post just to see what areas in 757 have it already. sooo back to da topic. ;D
that 30/5 service is prob over 100bucks a month id assume... as far as the other two levels cox offers the same speeds.. im prob one of the lucky few that actually get killers speeds all the time... im not a fan boy of either.. ill take the fastest at the best price.. lets the speed wars start!

my brother has FiOS and lives in the neighborhood behind BJ's on Va. Beach Blvd. There's a house for rent back there as well. Don't know if you are looking to rent or buy but just letting you know.
Im trying to deside on rent/buy now.. working out the bills and stuff might wait 1 more year before i buy.. but yea, thanks again ;D
A lot will change over the next year. We are installing it to more houses every day. I'm not sure of the exact areas on the southside that have it now or that are next to get it. On the Peninsula the Harpersville area in NN has it and it's on its way to Denbigh/Jefferson area.

i am actually interested if you have that info on hand id appericate it.
If you have Cable tv and phone service from either Verizon or Cox, you would have 2 boxes about 2/3 the size of the Fios box each. So if you switched to Fios, you would have less shit on the side of your house. I'm not positive what the current draw is , but it's very negligable, no more than what your cordless phones use though. I could find out for sure if you want to know. As for the speed, You can get as much as you want, the fiber is limiltless. We use the same size fiber to transmit all the data in Hampton Roads From Central office to Central office.
