Engine??????????????????
I just bought a 96 civic DX with a B16A swap and GSR tranny. Is the B16A from an Si or is it a JDM engine? How would I know the difference? It says B16A. Thanx.
yes, if it just says B16A and has no 2-3 at the end it is a JDM motor, you can see what year it is on the exhaust side of the head towards the passenger side.
All JDM honda motors stop at the last letter. (b16a, b18c, b18b, b20b, ect...). USDM motors end with a number (b16a2, b18c1, b18b1, ect...). That goes for all honda motors, not just b-series. It gets a little different when talking about UK motors though, like the b18c6 (UK type-R and stuff like that).
I agree that it's a JDM engine, but just as a side note, 94-97 (98?) VTEC del Sols also came with B16s in them. No one seems to remember that the Civic Sis weren't the first USDM Honda to have B16s..
