DSM Link??
"Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon were OBDII compliant in 95."
That's from pocketlogger.com. I know that some '95s are eprom ECU's and some aren't (most being so), but as far as I know, the 2G pocketlogger works with them all. Don't quote me though, I could be wrong. I've just never heard of anyone having issues with any '95s. A 1G (OBDI) pocketlogger won't work with a '95. It's a totally different ECU (which is why you can't use DSMlink with a 1G).
As for the difference between OBDI and OBDII, this is also from pocketlogger.com.
"OBDI (pre '96 cars)
OBDI is not a standard. While most people refer to cars that aren't OBDII as OBDI, there were no specifications set forth as "OBDI". Cars not manufactured to OBDII spec were not required to adhere to any rules as far as the design of ECU communications. Each manufacturer was free to create there own way to 'talk' to the ECU. It is not as simple as having a cable that plugs into the port. You need to know what to 'say' to the ECU and you need to know what the ECU is going to say back. None of this information is public knowledge. Any information that is out there has been reverse engineered, a very time consuming task. Due to this fact, just because we have a "DSM" version that works with an "OBDI" car doesn't mean it's compatible with other OBDI cars. We may or may not develop a logger version for other popular OBDI cars. At this point no immediate plans have been made.
OBDII
The US government mandated that all cars manufactured for and after the 96 model year be OBDII compliant. Some manufactures picked up OBDII compliance as early as 94, but typically 95 or 96. If your car is 96 or later, it's OBDII compliant (but still may not work, keep reading). If its 94 or 95, OBDII compliant cars will say so on their under hood sticker."
Now while it says pre-96 cars are OBDI, as it states, that just means that '96 was when it was federally mandated that all U.S. cars had to be OBDII, but some cars were made (OBDII) compliant before then, even some in '94.
Hope this help a little.

actually that's true, I remember we (jeremy) logged seans car and it's 95 eprom, but I rememer reading on dsmtalk the whole reason the 95 eprom ECUs work with dsmlink and the other's dont is because they're obdI.
If you have dsmlink you have all the datalogging ability you need.
the 95 computer is eprom. that means it can be reprogrammed. it is still obd2 just can be programmed to work under obd1.

Do you have a DSMlink? That's a pocketlogger plus a million other things. If so, he's right, you don't need anything else.
That's kind of what I was trying to get at, except like Digital Tuning (pocketlogger.com) said, there's no certain specifications for OBDI so I don't know how you could reprogram it to be OBDI. (It would just be a reprogrammed OBDII, there's more to OBDII than just what you can reprogram with the EPROM).
Anyway, the inportant thing is that we've established that a 2G logger will work with a '95 EPROM ECU.
Which reminds me, and I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier, but there is someone on DSMtrader selling a whole pocketlogger setup brand new for $210 shipped (Palm M105, cable, software). I don't know if you'd be interested in that if he still has it, but I could give you his email addy to find out (I want it but I don't have the money right now).
